In Dallas, in April '51
Emily gave birth to a baby son.
Richard Steven was born,
On that auspicious day,
I'm eternally grateful.....what can I say?
He's a wonderful husband, father and friend,
On his kindness and loyalty you can depend.

We met when we were fifteen years old,
Our hot telephone romance soon grew cold.
When I crashed Anita's Sweet 16,
One year had passed,
Our eyes met......but this time, I knew it would last.
Going out to eat was our typical date,
So are you surprised that I gained so much weight?

In the summer of '72 at the West Oak Lane JCC,
Rick exchanged wedding vows with little ole me!
First Robert Adam,
Then Michael Brent,
We knew both our boys were heaven sent.
In the delivery room through both births, Rick remained,
He fed them and changed them and never complained.

Rick's hobby is going to the Laundromat,
On Tuesdays and Fridays that's where he's at.
Which is best?
Clorox or Stain Stick?
His major dilemma?.....which one to pick.
He buys them in abundance, Wisk and Kleenex, too
We could open our own store and sell them to you.

As someone's wife, Rick would really go far,
He'll gladly shine your shoes or wash your car.
He markets, he cleans,
The kids he'll chauffeur,
Or he'll pick up your cleaning if you'd prefer.
He'll Windex the table while the guests are still there,
But he has an aversion to new underwear.

Rick's a great friend who will do anything,
Need a car, job or lawyer?.....just give him a ring.
Salesman of the month,
At Midtown Olds,
Who's honored frequently for all the cars that he's sold.
He loves Remy Martine, our Bichon Frise,
He leaves her messages on the answering machine, when he's away.

Need Viagra? Not my sex maniac,
Rick is an animal.....he's great in the sack!
So, here's to your 50th,
The life that we share,
I wish you love, health and happiness for the next hundred years.
