| A WEDDING TOAST
(from the Groom's Mom)
It's very hard for me to speak,
I'm afraid a tear will brush my cheek.
Our dear children,
Alexandra and Neil,
It's hard to express the way that I feel.
Your adoration and devotion,
Fill my heart with untold emotion.
Alexandra traveled to New York from LA,
And through a friend, met Neil one day.
Sparks flew,
The attraction was there,
But both were part of a different pair.
A year went by
he went out for a wedding,
Unaware at the time where his life would be heading!
For the marriage of friends Suzanna and Blake,
He needed to find someone he could take.
Call Alexandra?
Would she go?
She was now unattached
the rest you all know!
For the next year at a frantic pace,
They flew coast to coast
from place to place.
Neil moved west, fulfilling his dream,
Working with all the LA pro teams.
The Dodgers, the Lakers,
Superstars galore,
Kobe Bryant, Shaq, Gary Sheffield and more.
He loves playing sports and runs every day,
But bungee jumping, Neil
what can I say?
Marathons to run, Kilimanjaro to climb,
Diving in the Seychelles
.ain't life divine?
The world's greatest surgeon,
Unlike any other,
We'll what'd you expect? After all
I'm his mother!
He's compassionate, witty; a golf club he swings,
He celebrates life and all that it brings.
At Trivial Pursuit she beats her Dad,
And Alexandra writes contracts that are iron clad,
She loves museums,
And dresses with style,
And the whole room lights up whenever she smiles.
They really make a remarkable pair,
With a love that's so special, unique and rare.
And so dear Neil, the joy of my life,
I welcome Alexandra as she becomes your wife.
The two of you,
Meant to be,
With love to last through eternity.
I wish you love, health and years filled with laughter,
From this day forward
and happily ever after!
